What we collect
Hey, My Spot! is a parking-enforcement tool for a specific condo/HOA community. Depending on how you use it, we collect:
- Your full name, phone number, and email address, when you register.
- Your vehicle’s plate number, and optionally its make, model, and color.
- Your unit number and whether you’re registered as an owner or tenant.
- If you use a QR check-in for an open spot: a plate number and phone number, without creating an account.
- A push-notification device token, if you enable notifications in the iOS app.
- Standard technical logs (IP address, timestamps, request details) collected automatically by our hosting providers.
How we use it
Strictly to run the app: matching a reported plate to a resident and notifying them directly, or broadcasting to the community when there’s no match; warning an open-spot check-in before its 24-hour window ends; generating the tow-authorization record a resident can show a tow company; and letting your HOA admin maintain the unit and spot registry. We don’t use your data for advertising, and we don’t sell it.
Who can see what
Your HOA admin can see your name, phone number, unit, and report history, for verification and dispute resolution. A wrong-spot report shows the offending plate to the resident whose spot it was reported in, or to the whole community if it’s a broadcast — your phone number is never shown to other residents.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the app — Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (application hosting), and Apple (push notification delivery). They process data on our behalf and don’t use it for their own purposes. We don’t share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
How long we keep it
Reports, broadcasts, and tow-authorization records are kept as an audit trail, since they can matter to a disputed tow. Account data is kept while your account is active. To ask us to delete your data, contact us below.
Children
Hey, My Spot! is intended for adult residents of the community it serves, not children under 13.
